Thanks to the people who made the EasyDoor Library for Quick Basic 4.5, cause
without it, this game would not look as good as it does.
Setting Up The Door!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Door Files Supported-
Chain.txt (WWIV)
DoorInfo#.Def
Door.sys
Info.BBS (Phoenix-never heard of it...)
CallInfo.bbs
Sfdoor.dat
PcBoard.Sys (why don't they make just one
damn drop-file for every bbs
system?)
First of all, unzip the game the directory you want it to be in. Then run
the config program called mfconfig.exe. The config will make a batch file
for you and that good stuff.
As you can see here, many drop files are supported. If you don't see yours,
don't bitch at us, cause we just wrote the program, not the library. However
if you still feel pissed off, call the Easy Door support BBS.
WWIV SETUP
-=-=-=-=-
For you WWIV guys (and chicks) we have included the exact way the door SHOULD be setup (cause we know that WWIV
stuff can be painful to setup). I would also recommend for WWIV 4.23 and
up that you use Door.sys cause it seems to work better.
WWIV Setup..
A. Description : MERCURY FIGHTER
B. Filename : MERCU (whatever you decide the .bat file to be)
C. SL :
D. AR : None.
E. ANSI : Must have ANSI!!!
F. DOS Interrupt: NOT Used (the most important part of the WWIV chain setup)
G. 300 Baud : NOT Allowed
H. Shrink : Yes
I. Disable pause: No
J. Local only : No
K. Multi user : No
I think perhaps that you should also have WWIVLock if you have a highspeed
modem....
All other BBS software should just set it up the way that you know how...
(because damnit, I only know WWIV and the very many clones also)
You must have mfmaint.exe in your nighly event batch file, or no one will be
able to play the next day.
For your users to play this game, they have to have ANSI (not alot of people
really don't have ANSI) because this is an ANSI door game. Maybe in a later
version it will support RIP and TTY, but for now it is ANSI.
Resetting the Game
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
It is quite simple to reset the game. All you have to do is type in RSD in
the directory that you are in, and the data files should be reset.
Or you can reset it from the config program..
Additional Commands while user is in door
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Alt H : Hangs Up (if you don't like them, give em
the shaft baby)
Alt X : Returns to the BBS without hanging up (pisses
the user off, but we sysops don't care)
Alt C : Enters Chat Mode (To tell the user that he
sucks and he should rot in hell :) )
Alt J : Jumps to DOS (DOS Shell baby)
Alt + : Adds one minute to time remaining (you're getting
soft at this point because you feel bad)
Alt - : Subtracts one minute to time remaining
(You rule! Drain their time! Yeah Yeah!)
How to play MF
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
First of all, there will only be 30 players allowed in the game. This is
not a cripple, it is just how we have it set up. The only really noticible
cripple in this game will be that users only get to play once a day. While
they are in the game, they can play until they die or beat the game.
Mercury Fighter is a pretty simple and straightfoward game to play. To do
the fighting the user (or you) must go to Warrior's Summit. Here they will
be asked to choose either weapondry or mortal combat. If they choose
weapondry, they will be allowed to choose one weapon for the whole fight and
that weapon will be used up after that fight. If the user so chooses Mortal
Combat, then he/she will fight against the enemy using his/her special move(we
are even politicly correct today!). Once the user gets passed a continent
or country he will be awarded a medal from that country saying he has
completed that area. In addition to the fine metal, he/she will also be
awarded attributes such as more hit points etc. As you all can see, the
fighting part of the game is very simple, but it is still a challenge.
Warrior's Den
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Finally to the fun part of the game.
Sex Battle
----------
This is a very interesting twist to gambling in a door game. The user will
go into this and be asked how much exp. they would like to wager and the user
must have more orgasms than Kim (uh it is based on a random number). The
user will only be allowed into this 5 times a day.
Arm Wrestling
-------------
In Arm Wrestling, the user will be able to wager either exp. or Hitpoints.
He/She must beat Kalin and they will get the amount of hitpoints they wager
added on to the score. Again the user will be allowed into this 5 times a
day.
Grand Master Gigi
-----------------
He will give you extra skills after you beat a country.
Old Man Hetfield
----------------
In this gambling thing, you have a drinking contest and wager $$$$. The user
has to outdrink OldMan Hetfield so you can win. Users are allowed into this
as many times as they feel they can get lucky.
Take a vacation
---------------
You get to do this once per day, and it will give you 50 more Hitpoints.
Buying Weapons
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This is pretty simple also. Just go into the buying weapons thing and buy
to your heart content. Stock up on weapons!
Hints about other fighters
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Oops, another cripple. All you have to do is register this game to get rid
of those damn cripples!
View Stats
-=-=-=-=-=-
Another pretty simple part of the game. This will let you look at your
stats. I know without us telling you this you would have been in the dark
about if for the rest of your life.
Registration Priveleges
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
First of all registration is $10. If you and your friend want to register it
together, we will give you a special once in a lifetime offer for 2 copies
of Mercury fighter for the bargain price of $12! Pretty cool huh?
Okay back to getting serious...Well first of all registering will get rid of
all those stupid cripples. Other benefits include: Users can actually beat
the game (they can in this, but it isn't special), much better ansis, more
countries to fight, more chicks to screw in the sex battle, more dudes to arm
wrestle, and more beers to drink with Old Man Hetfield. Registered users will
also be able to get discounts on new Rapicide games coming out. You guys will
even get copies of updated Mercury Fighter. Right now we are currently
planning on making a tournament edition of this game which you will also get
for free. Boy, look at all this stuff you get for 10 bux. If we didn't
make the game, I am sure we would be tempted to register.
